ASX listed Sayona Mining (ASX:SYA) has announced assay results demonstrating high-grade lithium from samples taken at its Tansim lithium project, situated 82 km south-west of the Authier lithium project in Quebec.
The company posted 14 positive sample results, ranging from 0.96% to 2.47% lithium oxide at its Viau-Dallaire prospect. High-grades between 0.22% lithium oxide and 4.5% lithium oxide were also realized at the nearby Viau pegmatite prospect.
Sayona’s Managing Director Dan O’Neill, said the company was very happy to sanction the find and intend to act immediately in in order to maximise the opportunity.
“An initial drilling program is being planned for both prospects when access is established and the First Nations consultation is completed”.
Last month the company announced that it will soon start drilling spodumene pegmatites at the Malline Lithium Project, located in the resource-rich Pilgangoora region. A number of major lithium players also hold interests in the region, including Pilbara Minerals and Altura Mining.
